Blog Hop: The Bold and The Beautiful

Didn't these gals come up with the best idea? Come join me on this blog hop. I'd love some great feedback from you all. We all know that the best part of blogging behind meeting great people is to learn from each other!

Here's what it's all about:

Gail @My Repurposed Life and MeganDVD @ Beauty in the Attempt are hosting The Bold and the Beautiful-your blog reviewed”.

What I'd like you to do: Please take a look around my blog, check out the layout, pages, buttons, sidebar and gadgets. I would love for you to gently critique my blog. I’m hoping you will leave me some positive feedback about my blog. It would be great if you could give me constructive criticism but be sure to tell me what you like about my blog too! Do you like my pictures? Does my blog load quickly for you? How about the font? All tips and tidbits welcome!

  1. Hi! I'm stopping by from the bog hop and the advice I've been getting is "move your about me closer to the top". Now that I'm blog hopping I'm seeing why...It's nice to see the person right off! So that is my tidbit of a suggestion for you too! :-) Your kitchen looks wonderful! I look forward to seeing more pictures of your completed projects! I'd love to have you visit my blog and leave some feedback too! Have a wonderful weekend!

I always want to know who is talking to me, should be front and center. I love how organized your space is just would like more images. Look on your blogspot widget, they have added a few ways to add thumbnails to your blog roll as well as your favorite posts. I really love your blog!! 4. Hi! Just wanted to let you know I love your kitchen is great and I love the vanity!! We are looking at the Lowe's version of it for a tiny 1/2 bath!!!

Now about your blog.... it is very simple and easy to read! I love the uncluttered feel!! What I am going to say next is definitely a case of the kettle calling the pot black... the subject of the missing picture of you. It would be great to "see" who I am reading about. Trust me, I don't have one of me either but know that I really out to get one up!! I don't know about you but I love all the suggestions I am seeing. They are giving me a much clearer picture of what I've been looking for, know what I mean!

Keep up all the great posts and I can't wait to see the finished bath!! :)

  6. thanks so much for linking up! I too love old movies and that is such a sweet story about your proposal! awwwww
Yep, move your about me up. :)
love the white clean look! I too think you should use all the "real estate" of your blog. spread out. I know that sometimes it can be difficult to manage all the techs of this blog land!
note-make sure before you make any changes that you download your template. (save it to computer) once I clicked change template by mistake and it took me forever to fix it!)
It looks like you have great content!
I recommend that you have your links open in a new window. If visitors click and it takes them away from your page, they might forget where they started. If you need to know how, you can email me.
I also recommend downloading windows live writer. It is so user friendly!
You've really got a great blog! I enjoyed my visit.

  8. Hey - I think you have the most organized sidebar of any blog I have commented on! I love your posts are organized by tags, but maybe make a page at the top on the Nav Bar for stuff like "Projects" or "Before and Afters" since I see you have some of those. Also I would consider widening the main blog where they posts are. I feel like it is a little narrow and not maximizing all of your blog space!

Can't wait to read more and see your around.

  9. Thank you so much my dear for linking up! I am thrilled that you took the risk. I KNEW everyone would love you. You have such a great insight of decor/projects/and creating a home....love that you joined! My gentle suggestion is to spread out as Gail suggested. You can do this under the template. Oh how I know it is scary to play with blog settings, but save a copy "just in case" and if it becomes too frustrating...you have your backup. I would also like to suggest to move up your followers to right underneath you. When bloggers move through blogs, some move at lightning speed and time is of the essence. When your followers are underneath you....you really give new potential an opportunity to choose you ASAP! I love how crisp and chic your blog is. The simplicity airs itself to a relaxed but loving environment. Keep that up! Once again these are just gentle thoughts. I know that taking a risk and putting yourself out there is very scary, but you should feel so proud and empowered. I hope that you are not a no-reply when dealing with comments. I always love being able to respond to my bloggers. Also...if you need anything, Gail and I would love to help. Just let us know what we can do. :)

Have a great finish to the weekend, and I hope you had fun...I always love seeing you come over ot my little world. :)

    Cheers~

  11. I just love your blog (and can I just say I am uber jealous of your pool house). It seems to be screaming for a custom header though :)

  12. Hello!! Im popping in from the Blog Hop :0) I really love the simple, clean approach youve taken with your blog here, but a blog header would really do a lot to help your page stand out amoungst the masses. I might suggest moving your "Search Bar" closer to the top. I know when Im looking for one, that's the first place I jump to. The "Contact Me" is a great addition though! its so nice to be able to find that quickly. Keep up the great work!

  13. I love the personal nature of your blog. The title is great. Ever think of including a photo of the "pine tree" house. The thing that jumps out the most is the lack of photos and some color. Perhaps some photos from your DIY projects?

  14. Hi there, joining from the Blog Hop. I love the simplicity of your blog and the Name is catching. I think a picture of pine trees and a house would be great. I am new to this, but give me a visit and I would be glad to help if you needed anything. My blog is colorful to say the least, but find a simple blog very calming and beautiful. I enjoy everyone's blog because it let's each individual person shine thru. By the way, love your kitchen and think a few more pictures of your awesome decorating needs to be on that sidebar.
    Blessings,
    Denise
