Pool House Part 4

Much work has taken place over these last few days.  I can't believe the transformation.  I love the "Little A" on the new roof.    We are going to be fixing up the area to the left too...where the pool filter and heater is.  The plan is to flip the heater and make room for a seating area.  We'll see how that goes.  Can't wait to start disguising those pipes somehow.

So the french doors and roofing is scheduled for tomorrow...

Pool House Part 3

Happy Memorial Day!  I am very thankful to live in this country.
Weekend was spent cleaning up construction debris, working on the yard (planting, mulching, weeding), and even found some time to relax and nap.
Here are the most recent photos of the pool house.  Some serious progress took place over the last few days.  I scored roofing shingles off Craigslist for 75% off retail...I just need to order some additional ones, but overall, a great deal.  The rafters are up and hopefully tomorrow the plywood and roofing paper will be installed.
I am starting to envision it.

Pool House Part 2

At this point, I wonder if I should be very happy or very scared.  It's hard for me to envision the end result, but I trust Hubs cause he has vision.

Pool House Transformation Part 1

Today is the big day...the day the crew will start to rip the roof off the pool house and begin the transformation.  Overall plan is as follows:

1.  Tear off and raise the roof a few feet.  This will allow for storage area and make it more pleasing to the eye when we install the french doors.  They won't look squat under a taller roof line.
2. Built out/extend the roof on either side of the pool house.  This will create a covered area for the hot tub on one side and a covered area for the pool filter, heater and stuff on the other side.
3. Install two sets of french doors and small window left over from kitchen remodel.
4. Side the pool house in white vinyl to match our home.
5. Install all new roofing.
6. Build an enclosure for the outside shower.
7. Exterior lighting options?
8. Interior remodel---lots and lots of ideas.  More to follow on that.

I've been lurking watching other people's blogs for some time.  I love checking them everyday finding new ideas for home decorating.  I am drawn to cottage style and love wood-painted, stained, distressed-anyway.  I own two nail guns and am always looking for ways to add a little trim to things.

Latest big project: the yard and pool house.  Hubs and I just finished demo-ing the shed by the pool.  We are getting ready for a major overhaul transforming this little gem into a backyard cottage.   This weekend was spent tearing everything out to the studs.  All the junk is now in my garage, but I am excited to begin this transformation.  We shopped all weekend and scored two french doors from Lowe's.  More to follow as we begin the transformation...pictures on the way.
